Fixes To Resolve Photoshop Image Importing Problem In Indesign Files



InDesign is such an interesting application only because it’s a combination of word and images to create professional look page design. The important thing to do when creating a document in adobe InDesign is to add images because without this your document will never look impressive.


Mostly it has been observed that importing images from Photoshop will create issue in Adobe InDesign. In this tutorial you will learn how to import or open a Photoshop file into InDesign and also fix to solve the common problems encountered meanwhile this.


Workaround To Fix Photoshop Image Importing Problem In Indesign Files

Importing PSD files into InDesign

Open your InDesign program.
From the toolbox, pick “selection” and then click on the graphics frame where you have to insert your PSD file.

Go to the File >Place and locate your PSD file. Click to “show import options” so that you can set specific options/settings for your imported file.

Tapping the file name that you want to place into your InDesign and then click the open button. show import option will get open and allow you to choose your import settings options.

Check the “Show Preview” checkbox to see the effects of import options you have selected.

After checking out all the settings and options, click the ok button to complete the process of importing your PSD file into Adobe InDesign. 

This will open the PSD file into the graphics frame that you have previously selected.

Fixing low-resolution images

Mostly it seen that problem occurs with the graphics that you have placed in your document. So check out these things in your InDesign document.

Check the display settings

Display graphics in high resolution. For this select View> Display Performance> High Quality Display.

Use Place instead of Paste

Chances are also that images are of low resolution even though you changed the display performance settings. For those images, make sure that you use the place command to insert the image into InDesign. Because in some instances the problem is just because of the pasting an image from another application and results in preview image being inserted instead of the original file.

Use Photoshop’s/PDF’s Layer Visibility

Match the layer visibility settings to those of the linked file when you update the link.

Keep Layer Visibility Overrides

Maintains the layer visibility settings as they were when the file was originally placed.

After then click OK, and perform one of the following:

Import a new frame and click the loaded graphics icon in the layout at the place where you want the upper left corner of the graphics to appear.

In order to import into an existing frame, which is not selected, click the loaded graphics icon anywhere in that frame.

To import into an existing frame, you have nothing to do as the image will automatically appears in that frame.

Note:

By mistakenly if you have replaced an existing graphics with any other image then press ctrl+ z (windows) or command + z (Mac OS ) to return the original image to the frame and display the loaded graphics icon.
